ENROLLMENT OPENS 19 OCTOBER

What do I really want to create? How do I make my work look cohesive without looking my authenticity? I do avoid creative burnout and stay connected to my work in the long run?

We will talk about it all and more. You’ll leave with a clear strategy, enthusiasm and a plan that is built for interruptions (life) and rest.

Here is what we’ll explore in this accessible and inclusive course

01 / From intention to see

What’s mindfulness and the most common misconceptions.

Introductory practices: mindfulness of breath and body.

02 / The art of decision-making

How emotions live in the body, how thoughts keep them going, and how to meet all three without being carried off.

Meditation practice: mindfulness of feelings, emotions and thoughts

03 / (Grounded) Vision

Living from the hearth and exploring self-compassion to saw the seeds of hope.

Introduction to RAIN practice

04 / Sustain & finish

How to sustain your practice and create a ripple effect: tips and strategies to live with integrity and alignment with your values

Closing practice: Metta, the art of loving kindness

What you'll find inside

  • Four full sessions, each a talk and a guided practice

  • Each guided meditation on its own, to return to whenever you need it. All of them less than 20 min.

  • A journaling workbook to further your reflections and deepen your insights

What you need

A quiet space, a notebook, yourself. That's it.

How it works

This is a hybrid course, meaning it has pre-recorded tutorial videos for each week’s theme and one live session on zoom happening the day after.

If you can’t make it to the live, send your question in advance so that I can answer it during the session. All sessions are recorded and added to the platform within 48-hours.

This is for you if:

You make, steadily or in bursts, and you'd like the bursts to add up to something you can name.

1

You have plenty of pieces and no thread between them. (Yet.)

2

You like to think before you make: why this, for whom, how many, which colours.

3

Your life has interruptions in it (children, work, a body, a brain with its own timetable), and you want a plan that expects them.

4

You'd rather have company than instructions: me making my own collection alongside you, and a small group doing the same.

5

One day you'd like to show, sell or simply stand behind a body of work.

6

You don't need a gallery, a degree or a following. You need a practice you return to, even irregularly.

It probably isn't for you if

  • You want a technique course. We'll talk about colour, format and series; how to paint is yours.

  • You're looking for someone to tell you what to make. I'll ask good questions. The answers belong to you.

  • You need a guarantee of a finished series by December. Some people will finish; others will leave with a named, planned and well-begun collection. Both count. (check this matches what you expect week four to produce)

Time to make (a collection) is a 4-Week live course

to navigate the challenges and hurdles of creating a cohesive body of work that we stay excited about.

A artist, a writer, and a mindfulness teacher in training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach in their Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. I've been meditating for eighteen years.

I made this course as an offering to people looking for ways to engage with the world while honouring their sensitivity. If that's you, come in.
